About Me

Josh McGrath is a highly respected real estate broker, entrepreneur, and industry leader known for his dedication to excellence, innovation, and community impact. A lifelong resident of West Virginia and an avid auto enthusiast, Josh began his real estate career immediately after high school, earning his license at just 18 years old. In 2001, he formed a top-producing real estate team, and by 2005, he became the broker/owner of Real Estate Central in Charleston, WV. Under his leadership, Real Estate Central has expanded to seven offices with over 140 REALTORS®, establishing itself as a premier real estate agency in central West Virginia. In 2025 Josh completed a new Acquisition which add 3 offices and 30+ agents in Eastern Kentucky.

In June 2020, during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Josh made a bold move to affiliate Real Estate Central with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, making it the first and only BHGRE company in West Virginia. This strategic decision further solidified the company’s market presence and commitment to providing cutting-edge real estate services. The firm has since been recognized for excellence, receiving the Best in the Valley Award from The Charleston Gazette-Mail for four consecutive years.

Josh’s contributions to the real estate industry have earned him numerous accolades. He was named Local REALTOR® of the Year in both 2007 and 2013 and received the 40 Under 40 award from The West Virginia State Journal’s Generation Next in 2016. That same year, he was honored as the West Virginia State REALTOR® of the Year in 2016 and represented the state at the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Convention. His leadership skills were further recognized in 2022 when he was selected for the prestigious NAR Leadership Academy out of 1.5 million REALTORS®. He currently serves on NAR’s Broker Engagement Council and is a proud member of the NAR RPAC Hall of Fame, advocating for the industry at a national level.

Beyond his professional achievements, Josh is deeply committed to giving back. In 2011, he and his team founded REC Kickin’ Cancer, an organization dedicated to raising funds for real estate agents battling cancer. This annual event consistently raises $15,000–$20,000, making a meaningful impact in the REALTOR® community. Additionally, Josh has served as President of the Kanawha Valley Board of REALTORS® and currently holds the position of President for the West Virginia Association of REALTORS®, where he continues to shape the future of the industry.

Josh’s influence extends nationwide as a sought-after speaker, sharing his expertise on real estate success strategies, brokerage growth, and industry leadership. Passionate about mentorship and professional development, he travels across the country motivating and educating agents on achieving success in real estate. When he’s not working, Josh enjoys spending time at Holden Beach, NC, and Davis, WV, embracing his love for travel and relaxation with his two dogs, Opal and Mavis. Licensed in West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, and the Carolinas, he remains dedicated to expanding his reach and impact in the real estate industry.
